PIG is a new physical/visual cross disciplinary collaboration between Lisa Anne Ross and visual artist Danielle Hogan that aims to foster beauty from the cesspool of deeply hateful anti-feminist rhetoric that comes from the mouths of some male public figures. Beauty from shit. The creative process for this new work began, with support from ARTSNB in the winter of 2018 with a period of research that led Danielle to build a series of gorgeous pieces of visual art that were a response to rhetoric such as ‘she had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever’. (Guess who said that!!) Lisa then took the art into the studio and used it as a catalyst to create a series of monologues and movement phrases. The company, as part of their residency at Theatre New Brunswick, are currently in the studio continuing this moving creative process and are excited to share this riveting and unabashedly feminist roar.
